Former J&J exec sentenced for bribery

Executive Summary
Robert John Dougall, former marketing director at J&J's DePuy International branch in Leeds, is sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to corrupt, the U.K.'s Serious Fraud Office announces April 14. Dougall admitted his involvement in a scheme to make payments or other inducements to medical professionals in Greece to encourage them to use J&J/DePuy's orthopedic devices. Between February 2002 and December 2005, the firm paid Greek doctors an estimated £4.5 million.
