Executive Summary
Two questions related to cardiovascular imaging research score in the top 10 on an updated priority list of CMS' Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Committee following an April 30 MedCAC meeting (1"The Gray Sheet" May 5, 2008, p. 15). Tying with three other research questions for the third-highest ranking were questions on the cost-effectiveness of CT angiography and the best initial imaging test for patients suspected of having stable angina. The top-ranking research topic deals with improving enrollment of Medicare elderly and disabled patients in clinical trials. CMS has posted a 2complete list of 86 research questions on its Web site
