Executive Summary
Acquisition of sports-injury surgical device maker Scandius Biomedical Nov. 8 for undisclosed terms complements Covidien's current sports surgery offerings for soft tissue repair and access, the firm says. Littleton, Mass.-based Scandius makes the Stratis ST femoral fixation and TriTis tibial fixation systems, which include instrumentation and non-absorbable and bioabsorbable polymer implants, for arthroscopic reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament.
