St. Jude will receive the first shipment of Nano Silver Vanadium Oxide (SVO) batteries by mid year, Wilson Greatbatch says. Prior to that, the firm will conduct final testing on 1,000 Nano SVOs that already have been built, President & CEO Ed Voboril states in a March 30 presentation at Lehman Brothers Global Healthcare Conference in South Beach, Fla. The nanobattery, created via a laser-based nanomaterials synthesis process, will be used in St. Jude pacemakers.
