Philips Emphasizes Services With New Division: Q&A With Jeroen Tas

Philips Healthcare announced the launch of its new Informatics Solutions and Services business last month. The division’s head, Jeroen Tas, spoke with “The Gray Sheet about the new effort.

Growing incentives for hospitals to offer more coordinated, cost-effective care are driving more device firms to expand offerings well beyond packaged products to include services designed to improve hospital practices. But it is also a natural approach for capital equipment firms, which already must work closely with hospitals to incorporate their products into a hospital’s footprint and workflow.
