Executive Summary
Direct Flow Medical (minimally invasive cardiovascular devices) raised $27mm in its Series B financing co-led by first-time backers Johnson & Johnson Development Corp. and Foundation Medical Partners. Other new investors VantagePoint Venture Partners and ePlanet Ventures were joined by returning shareholders EDF Ventures, New Leaf Venture Partners, and Spray Venture Partners. A representative from J&J Development and Foundation Medical will join the company's board. Direct Flow Medical will use the funds to complete clinical feasibility trials of its minimally invasive implant to treat patients with heart valve disease.
