Executive Summary
Aesthera (aesthetic treatment systems) has raised $11mm with the closing of its oversubscribed Series C venture round. New investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the financing and was joined by current backers MedVenture Associates and Adams Street Partners. The company will use the funds to determine new applications for its light-based Photopneumatic Technology (PPx) (it is already used on unwanted hair and to remove vascular and pigmented skin lesions) and to broaden its sales channels and increase marketing activities.
