An official from Taiwan’s Center for Drug Evaluation has said that plans for a new Taiwan Food and Drug Administration are moving forward, with the new agency expected to start operations in January 2010. At the Drug Information Association’s 45th annual meeting in San Diego, US, on 21-25 June, Chih-Hwa Wallace Lin, director of the CDE’s Division of Resource Development, said that industry could also expect to see a more streamlined new drug application review process in 2010, as well as modifications to the way clinical trials are regulated in Taiwan.
