For the second year running, Philips Healthcare nabbed the lead position as the company that filed the most number of European medtech patent applications in 2016, ahead of Medtronic and Johnson & Johnson. The latest figures from the European Patent Office also showed that medtech remained the top technology field for all EU patent filings last year.
