Executive Summary
Mike McMullen has become the new CEO of Agilent Technologies, replacing Bill Sullivan, who will be a company advisor until he retires at the end of October. New leader Mr McMullen was previously president and chief operating officer of the company, and has spent over 30 years with Agilent and Hewlett-Packard (which the former spun off from in 1999). Bio-analytical measurement specialist Agilent has been through a transitional period, announcing in September 2013 that it was splitting into two companies: one focused on life sciences and diagnostics, and the other on its electronic measurement (EM) business. It spun off the EM franchise, Keysight Technologies, in November 2014, after announcing in September that Mr Sullivan would retire from the new-look Agilent, and Mr McMullen take up the reins.
