Germany's medicines agency BfArM is seeking a new chair to succeed Professor Dr Walter Schwerdtfeger, who has reached retirement age and is due to leave at the end of July. Dr Schwerdtfeger, who has led BfArM since 2010, worked at the health ministry from 1992 to 2010, and before that was with the Paul-Ehrlich Institute. He is also vice-chair of the European Medicines Agency's management board.
