Executive Summary
Joint assessments by national designating authorities of notified bodies active in the medical device area are relatively new. A voluntary program related to these assessments kicked off in January 2013 and the initiative has already seen much action. While those orchestrating this program are pleased at what has been achieved, more intense scrutiny is on the way and the European Parliament wants even more. Amanda Maxwell reports
