As of 3 July, Spanish regional governments have repaid some 90% of the €5.23bn ($6.5bn) which they owed to medtech suppliers at the end of 2011, under the central government’s regional bailout scheme (www.clinica.co.uk, 2 July 2012). However, further debt is accumulating rapidly in the meantime, industry association Fenin is warning.
