GE Healthcare has invested $7.5m in NanoSonics, a publicly-listed Australian company which has developed a disinfecting system for ultrasound transducers. GE has been the exclusive distributor of NanoSonics' Trophon EPR system in the US and Canada since May 2011; as part of the investment, GE will gain first right of refusal for exclusive distribution of the device in Japan.
