Immanuel Straub, founder of Swiss vascular device developer Straub Medical, has passed away aged 82. He formed his first company, Straub Federtechnik, which specialised in technical springs, in 1954, before founding Straub Kupplungen in 1967, which developed technology for coupling pipes; this was used in various applications including shipbuilding. In the 1990s, Mr Straub established a holding company, before founding Straub Medical in 1997. A year later, he sold his group of companies but kept Straub Medical.
