Executive Summary
Gregg Lehman has been appointed president and CEO of troubled cardiorespiratory diagnostic systems developer Angeion, less than two months after taking up the roles on an interim basis. Dr Lehman joined the firm in May after its previous leader, Philip Smith, quit unexpectedly after only five months on the job (www.clinica.co.uk, 27 May 2011). The company declined at that time to provide more details about the reasons behind Mr Smith's departure, but his resignation preceded the company releasing lacklustre figures for its second quarter; the firm reported flat Q2 sales, but managed to narrow its losses to $138,000. Since replacing Mr Smith, Dr Lehman has “demonstrated exceptional leadership in a short period and has positively affected our customers, employees, business partners and shareholders”, according to Angeion. Dr Lehman was previously president and CEO of fitness centre management company Health Fitness from 2007 to 2010. He has also held several senior-level positions in the medical and education sectors.
