Celera CFO quits for family reasons

Ugo DeBlasi, senior vice-president and CFO of genetic testing company Celera, has stepped down from his position “to pursue employment opportunities closer to his family in Connecticut”. Mr DeBlasi has served as the firm’s CFO since April 2009, during which time he has commuted from Connecticut to Celera’s headquarters in Alameda, California. He will stay at Celera until 19 November to assist the company in its third quarter reporting obligations and through the transition of his responsibilities. Mr DeBlasi previously worked for Applera – Celera’s former parent company – as chief accounting officer and, latterly, vice-president and controller.
