Edward Arquilla, board member for in vitro diagnostic cancer test firm Radient Pharmaceuticals (RPC), has died. Dr Arquilla joined RPC in 1997 and helped with its corporate and scientific planning. He also served as the firm’s liaison to the clinical and academic communities. Douglas MacLellan, executive chairman and CEO of RPC, said that Dr Arquilla “has been a pillar of scientific, medical and business expertise and insight for RPC for more than a dozen years”. Dr Arquilla obtained the very first patent for a pregnancy test in 1964. He was also a full-time faculty member of the department of pathology at the University of Southern California, the University of California at Los Angeles and the University of California at Irvine.
