AccuVein adds India to growing global base

Executive Summary

AccuVein (Cold Spring Harbour, New York) has added to its international distributor base by signing an exclusive deal with Indian firm Morepen Laboratories. Under the terms of the deal, Morepen’s Medipath Division will make AccuVein’s AV300 vein finder technology available in India. This deal brings AccuVein’s number of global distributors up to 30 – most recently, in October 2009, it signed a five-year agreement with the Ferrer Group, covering distribution for Greece, Portugal and Spain. The AV300 is designed to help healthcare professionals locate veins for blood draw, IV infusion and blood donation. The hand-held device projects a pattern of light on the patient’s skin, revealing the position of underlying veins.
