Biomedical Diagnostics CE marks test to tailor autoimmune disease treatment

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Autoimmune disease specialist Biomedical Diagnostics (Marne la Vallée, France) has CE marked its Lisa Tracker Premium test kit for sale in Europe. The diagnostic is designed to improve the management of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease. It simultaneously measures levels of the cytokine tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α, anti-TNF drugs, and neutralising anti-drug antibodies (ADAs). TNF-α is involved in inflammation and is often elevated in autoimmune disorders. TNF inhibitors such as infliximab and etanercept are less effective in patients who develop ADAs, who often experience a relapse of disease. Measuring these three parameters therefore helps physicians predict a patient’s response to these medications and tailor treatment accordingly.
