Taiwan's regulatory system for medical devices is reckoned to be among the most difficult to cope with in Asia, mainly because of the paper bureaucracy. However, reimbursement of devices is of greater concern to manufacturers, Terri Zavada, HIMA's director of global strategy and analysis, told the US industry association's meeting on Doing Business in Japan & Asia on December 7th-8th.
