Executive Summary
The Central District of California Court has upheld Surgical Laser Technologies' motion that it did not infringe a patent owned by Trimedyne. The action, which concerns Trimedyne's hot metal tip, was filed in January 1995. As part of the same action, Trimedyne alleged Surgical Laser's side-firing, free- beam urologic probe infringes a patent for which Trimedyne holds the licence. Surgical Laser says it plans to bring a similar motion for summary judgment.
