French research agency ANDEM has drawn up the first series of medical guidelines for 1996. The agency was asked to draft recommendations for 23 subjects to add to the 147 guidelines in existence. The series is out for comment with French medical insurers and doctors' unions. The first additional guidelines for 1996 will include regular check-ups for pregnant women, including testing for hepatitis B and C, rubella and syphilis.
