UK pays for faulty condoms

Executive Summary
The UK taxpayer will have to pay £102,000 ($161,000) for the replacement and disposal of faulty condoms shipped to Zimbabwe as part of an aid package. The faulty condoms were produced by Dongkuk Techno Rubber Industries (Malaysia) on behalf of the UK Overseas Development Agency (ODA) in 1993. Despite production-line checks, over a third of the 66 million condoms were found to be unreliable when tested in Zimbabwe.
