TTI Medical launched ACCU-Surg, a range of reusable suction, irrigation and electrosurgery instruments for MIS, at the American College of Surgeons annual meeting (New Orleans, October 22nd-27th). TTI says $34 million a year is spent on disposable suction/irrigation devices in the US. A switch to reusables could save $20 million, or $45,000 for an average size hospital, the company claims. TTI believes the move to managed care will force more hospitals to utilise reusable MIS equipment.
