Executive Summary
A new technique which could be useful both as a diagnostic test for early, subclinical Parkinson's disease and for monitoring neuroprotective agents was described at the September European Neuroscience meeting in Amsterdam. Dr R Innis of Yale University (US) reported on a new radiotracer - (123)I-CIT - which labels dopamine transporters and can be imaged with single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT).
