A week after surrendering to Rhone Poulenc Rorer's takeover offer, UK pharmaceutical company Fisons has completed the sale of its laboratory supplies distribution business. In August, Fisons announced that US-based Fisher Scientific would purchase the business, comprising Curtin Matheson Scientific (US) and Fisons Scientific Equipment (UK), for $310 million (see Clinica No 669, p 15), representing $301 million in cash and the assumption of $9 million of debt.
