Executive Summary
Picker International (US) has received US FDA clearance for its Outlook MRI system which it introduced at last year's Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) meeting (see Clinica No 634, p 18). The 0.23T system's open design offers "unprecedented patient accessibility", says Picker. It features phased-array head, body and surface coils. The faster shielded gradients with 12mT/m peak and 20mT/m/ms rise time allow fast spin echo, magnetisation transfer contrast and 2D and 3D time of flight MR angio.
