Executive Summary
The MPT7-4 multiplane transoesophageal (TEE) imaging scanhead is "the first scanhead to offer truly broadband, multiplane TEE imaging," according to ATL, which has introduced the device for its HDIcv and HDI 3000cv systems. Highly flexible, allowing 180degrees rotation of the imaging plane for a 360degrees field of view of the heart, the MPT7-4 also minimises electromagnetic interference in coronary care units, and from cauterising equipment during surgery. "This enables cardiac function to be monitored during surgical procedures with greater diagnostic confidence," the company claims.
