Researchers in Israel have developed a computerised technique that predicts the chances of dental and orthopaedic implants being accepted by the body, reports the Jerusalem Post. Studying the characteristics and effects of implant materials in rats, Prof Yona Sela et al of the Hebrew University School of Dentistry investigated how quickly the rodents' bone tissue encircled the implants and how prone they were to infection.
