SensorMedics Ventilator approved for children:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

SensorMedics Critical Care (US) has received FDA approval to market its 3100A high frequency oscillatory ventilator for treating children with severe respiratory failure. This makes the 3100A the only high frequency ventilator approved for use with young children, SensorMedics claims. The device had previously been granted FDA approval to be marketed only for use with newborns, but approval to extend its applications to children follows the successful results of controlled trials, the company says.
