Executive Summary
On September 13th, Judge Denise Page Hood granted a request by Dow Corning to transfer all of the estimated 5,000 breast implant opt-out lawsuits against the company into a single jurisdiction. This is separate to the cases of those women who have opted into the proposed $4,250 million global settlement which has until the end of September to be renegotiated. Judge Hood also ruled that the suits naming Dow Corning's parents as defendants should not be consolidated into a single case but be sent back to the state courts where they were first filed.
