Tri-Point Medical LP (US) has received clearance from the Canadian Ministry of Health and Welfare to market its wound- closure adhesive, Traumaseal. The biocompatible adhesive can be used to close wounds from skin lacerations, minimally invasive surgery and plastic surgery. No anaesthesia is required to apply the liquid suture and procedure time is "minimal", says Tri-Point. US FDA export approval has been granted for the product which will be distributed in Canada by Pilling Weck (US).
