Executive Summary
A pilot study of pulsed radio frequency (PRF) therapy has been shown to be helpful in stimulating the flow of blood near lower extremity ulcer sites in diabetics. The US study was directed by Drs Harvey Mayrovitz and Perry Larson at the Miami Heart Research Institute and published in the May/June issue of Wounds. In the study, PRF was administered for 45 minutes to 15 diabetic patients with at least eight-week-old ulcers on the foot or toe. Florida-based Electropharmacology's MRT sofPulse was used in the study.
