Angiography provides no significant benefit to patients in terms of survival or health-related quality of life, concludes a study sponsored by the US Agency for Health Care Policy and Research. The results of an analysis of Medicare patients in New York and Texas, published in the New England Medical Journal (August 31st), show that the higher use of coronary angiography in Texas than in New York did not significantly affect outcomes.
