Executive Summary
Coronary stenting has spiked the guns of several interventional devices. Most seriously affected is directional coronary atherectomy. Laser atherectomy has been immune so far and could even see its use increased. It could be an ideal way to prepare complex lesions for stenting but first the problem of collateral damage must be overcome.
