Executive Summary
Work on medical imaging standards was particularly productive at the International Electrotechnical Commission during 1994, according to the organisation's annual report. During the year it issued three new parts on evaluation and routine testing; published six new standards on the characteristics of electro- optical X-ray image intensifiers; and announced the availability of IEC 601-1-3 on radiation protection in diagnostic X-ray equipment. In all, IEC 601 standards have grown by six new parts, while a further ten are in preparation.
