Sanofi Pharma has received UK Medicines Control Agency marketing approval for Medco's (US) Adenoscan. Sanofi will sell the adenosine-based coronary vasodilator under a royalty-bearing licence and plans to seek approval in other European countries. The UK MCA approved Adenoscan for use during thallium-201 imaging. The US FDA approved the drug last month (see Clinica No 656, p 18).
