Executive Summary
Early thallium evaluation of ischaemia and left ventricular ejection fraction are effective predictors of death and re-infarction in heart attack patients. Cardiologists from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, used quantitative adenosine thallium-201 tomography in 146 stable post-MI patients (JACC May). They found that death was best predicted by total perfusion defect size.
