Executive Summary
Diagnostic Systems Laboratories (US) has launched five new assays. Only one - a non-extraction, double-antibody RIA for oestrone - is for clinical use; the other four are research-use only. DSL says the oestrone test is only 1.25% cross-reactive to beta-oestradiol and 0.25% to oestriol. The research-use tests include RIAs for free-testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, a coated-tube immunoradiometric assay for osteocalcin, and CrossLaps, an ELISA for collagen-specific peptides in urine.
