Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) is safer and more effective than vasography for detecting obstructions causing male infertility, according to US researchers. A team from Boston University Medical Center studied 128 patients and in almost 100% of cases was able to diagnose obstructions such as stones, cysts and infection preventing the passage of sperm into the ejaculate.
