Executive Summary
Picker International (US) has received US FDA clearance to market its PQ 5000 spiral CT system. Unveiled at RSNA last November, the system is designed for high-end CT angiography. It features high-power acquisition (50 kW), synchronous vascular injection planning, high-speed integral angiography and three-second reconstruction (see Clinica No 633, p 20). The PQ 5000V vascular configuration, which has also been cleared, features 4-D angiography. Variable omni-dimensional opacity allows visualisation of vascular patency and multidimensional viewing of vessels, bone and soft tissue in one display, says Picker.
