A French company has disregarded the country's anticadeaux (anti-gift) law, says a report in Le Quotidien du Medecin, by offering doctors a motorscooter worth Fr 10,000 ($1,800) if they purchase Doppler or ultrasound equipment. Montpellier- based Doppler Measure System (DMS) sent out promotional material to doctors before Christmas offering them equipment trials, a part exchange on present apparatus and a free Suzuki scooter if they purchased a Sonoace 1500 or Angiodine 2 before the end of last year. The advertisement was subsequently republished in the French satirical magazine "le Canard enchaine".
