Boehringer Mannheim (Germany) is hoping to increase its presence in eastern Europe via a tie-up with Czech manufacturer Lachema, the largest diagnostics producer of the former Comecon countries. The German company says that "negotiations are still under way" and a deal is hoped for sometime after May.
