Executive Summary
Haifa based Cryomed has developed a new method for hypothermic treatment of human tissue. The technique uses a cryogen in an insulated vessel - heat is absorbed during melting, freezing the tissue. Cryomed says that the advantages of this system compared with devices currently on the market are that the cryogens do not need to be replaced; there is no limit to the inclination angle; and the relatively moderate temperatures used mean that target tissue can be repeatedly frozen and thawed with minimal collateral damage.
