Executive Summary
St Jude Medical has received a request from the US Federal Trade Commission for additional information relating to its planned takeover of Ventritex. St Jude says completion of the purchase is expected in the first quarter of 1997. The US cardiovascular company completed the acquisition of Telectronics Pacing Systems in late November. Both purchases were announced in October (see Clinica No 729, p 1-2).
