CooperSurgical's KOH colpotomiser system that allows laparoscopic hysterectomy surgery has been cleared by the FDA for marketing in the US. The system is a new component of the company's RUMI uterine manipulator. CooperSurgical, based in Shelton, Connecticut, estimates that nearly 650,000 hysterectomies are performed in the US annually.
