Executive Summary
Fonar is developing an MRI scanner which can accommodate a standing patient, allowing images of the spine and joints to be taken while the patient is bearing his or her full weight. Physicians can thus detect abnormalities or injuries that have an impact only in the standing position. A tilting mechanism also enables MR angiography and standard MRI imaging to be carried out.
