Executive Summary

George Kennedy, chairman of Smiths Industries Medical Systems, has taken over as the new chairman of the Association of British Health-Care Industries (ABHI). He succeeds Keith Wetherell. This is the second time Mr Kennedy has been appointed to the position. He held the chairmanship from January 1989 to 1990. This was when ABHI was formed through the amalgamation of the British Health and Export Council and the British Healthcare Trade and Industry Council (of which Mr Kennedy had been chairman).
