Executive Summary
Australia and New Zealand have agreed to draw up joint proposals for a harmonised regulatory system for therapeutic products - medicines and medical devices. Therapeutic products are subject to a special exemption under the recently-signed Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement. Following consultation with all interested parties, including industry, the two governments will develop a joint agency approach to regulation.
